American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a fast-paced Med / Surg unit specializing in trauma and acute surgical care, requiring a valid NH or compact RN license and recent trauma center experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 36-bed adult Med / Surg unit focused on trauma and acute care surgical patientsUnit admits patients with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and major orthopedic injuries, as well as those recovering from surgeries such as hernia repair, bowel obstructions, appendectomy, and cholecystectomyUnit includes 2 negative pressure rooms for potential COVID casesDay shift RN patient ratio is 1 : 4; night shift is 1 : 5LNA patient ratio is 1 : 12High patient acuity with busy, rehabilitation-focused environmentCare includes chest tubes, trachs / laryngectomies, lines, tubes / drains, and telemetry monitoringDrips administered include Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodaroneRNs support rehabilitation and complex care of trauma and acute surgical patientsMust be comfortable caring for COVID-positive patients when assigned to negative pressure roomsNo requests for time off on 12 / 24 or 12 / 25 will be acceptedMust maintain active license throughout the contractFirst-time travelers are welcome to apply\n \n Requirements\n
Active NH RN license or compact RN license with proof of state residencyCurrent BLS certification requiredMinimum 1.5 years of recent experience in a comparable fast-paced Med / Surg unitRecent Level I or Level II Trauma center experience within the last 2 yearsExperience with chest tubes, telemetry, complex wounds, central line care and maintenance, and administering drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodaroneNo local candidates will be considered; must live at least 75 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
