Job descriptionWork on a fast-paced 36-bed adult surgical unit Patient population includes trauma and acute surgical patients, including those with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic trauma, and post-surgical conditions such as hernia repair and appendectomy Unit includes 2 negative pressure rooms for COVID patients RN patient ratios are 1 : 4 on days and 1 : 5 on nights Telemetry monitoring and post-surgical care required Responsibilities include care and rehabilitation of both trauma and acute surgical patient populations Supportive multidisciplinary team environment with a strong focus on patient recovery Strict adherence to hospital infection control practices required when caring for COVID patients Coverage of both day and night shift schedules may be required Active NH or compact RN license with proof of state residency Current BLS certification required Minimum 1.5 years of recent experience in a fast-paced Med / Surg unit Recent Level I or comparable Level II trauma experience within the last 2 years Experience caring for patients with chest tubes, complex wounds, trachs / laryngectomies, central lines, and post-surgical lines / tubes / drains Experience administering drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone Ability to monitor and care for patients requiring telemetry No local candidates accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
