We are seeking a BMS Validation Engineer to join our team. This role will involve designing, developing, and validating embedded Battery Management Systems (BMS) for high-voltage energy storage and propulsion systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in MATLAB / Simulink , HIL testing , embedded control validation , and safety-critical system validation, with a strong focus on rail or automotive energy storage applications.

Job Description
As a BMS Validation Engineer , you will be responsible for ensuring the functionality, reliability, and safety of embedded Battery Management Systems. You will design and execute validation plans, develop test procedures, and analyze system performance to ensure compliance with automotive and rail standards, including Safety Integrity Levels (SIL). The BMS Validation Engineer will also support real-time embedded control testing, data analysis, and documentation to deliver high-quality, validated systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement BMS validation plans , including traceability documentation using tools such as DOORS.
Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and fixtures for new and existing Battery Management System products.
Build and maintain Simulink models to support embedded controls development and validation.
Perform Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and embedded system validation for BMS.
Collect, process, and analyze test data using MATLAB and Excel , identify trends, and produce detailed validation reports.
Validate BMS system functionality , including safety-critical features and performance under real-world operating conditions.
Conduct real-time embedded control testing , data logging, and post-processing to support system verification.
Execute manual, black-box, functional, and system testing for BMS hardware and software components.
Utilize defect tracking and reporting tools such as ClearQuest and IBM tools to log and resolve issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure all BMS requirements, safety standards, and design objectives are met.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience with BMS design and embedded system validation .
Proficiency in MATLAB / Simulink and model-based development for embedded controls.
Experience in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and real-time control system validation.
Knowledge of high-voltage Lithium-ion energy storage or propulsion systems (up to 1500V).
Familiarity with safety standards, including SIL and NFPA70E .
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for validation, debugging, and reporting.
Experience with manual, black-box, functional, and system testing methods.
Proficiency with tools like DOORS , ClearQuest , and defect logging systems.
Educational Background
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering , Computer Science , or Mechatronics .
