Overview
The Graphic Designer is to be the champion of Mirastar Federal Credit Unions creative and visual identity. This role requires an experienced graphic designer with the ability to manage all aspects of creative projects, from concept to execution, while ensuring alignment with our brand, style guides, and strategic goals. The Graphic Designer will lead the development of impactful designs that resonate with our members and support our mission of delivering exceptional financial solutions.
Qualifications
- Education and / or Experience : Bachelors degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field and a range of 5 to 8 years in related experience and / or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Adobe Certified Professional (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.). Familiarity with motion graphics, video editing, or UX / UI design is preferred. Experience working in the financial services industry or with regulated brands is also preferred.
- Geographical Location : This position may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement. Individuals working in this position must be located within the state of California. This position does not provide relocation assistance.
Essential Functions
Create, manage, and fulfill all creative projects, including print, digital, media, and multimedia assets, ensuring high-quality and on-brand execution.Support the creative process from concept to delivery, including brainstorming, designing, and production of materials across delivery channels. This includes assisting with copywriting and proofreading materials.Serve as the guardian of the credit unions brand identity, ensuring consistency across all communication channels and marketing materials.Collaborate closely with the VP Marketing and marketing team members to understand project goals and develop creative solutions that meet objectives.Create compelling designs for a variety of mediums, such as brochures, advertisements, social media content, email campaigns, and website visuals.Stay updated on design trends and emerging technologies to ensure our creative output remains fresh, innovative, and competitive.Provide guidance and management of external vendors, ensuring their work aligns with the organizations standards and vision.Coordinate with external vendors and printers to ensure production quality and deadlines are met.Create and maintain an organized archive of all print and digital assets.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Ensure that all advertising materials adhere to advertising compliance requirements.Compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, and USA PATRIOT Act, including but not limited to reporting suspicious activities to your supervisor and BSA Officer.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiar with additional design tools.Strong understanding of branding principles and the ability to maintain and evolve brand guidelines.Proven experience designing for both print and digital platforms, including knowledge of responsive design and web standards.Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering error-free designs.Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and oversee creative initiatives from start to finish.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to stakeholders and incorporate feedback effectively.A robust portfolio showcasing a range of design work that demonstrates creativity, innovation, and strategic thinking.Strong verbal, written, and phone communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate professionally at all levels.Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of staff and members in a professional, approachable, and positive manner.Forward-thinking, with professional standards and business profile.Ability to handle simultaneously multiple tasks and changing priorities in an efficient and effective manner.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.Ability to conduct thorough research and provide workable recommendations and solutions to problems.Broad knowledge of, and practical experience with, graphic design and marketing functions, products and services, and the laws and regulations that affect the Credit Union.Detail-oriented, self-starter who is able to work independently.Computer literate and proficient in software applications, Adobe Acrobat, online research tools, and MS Office : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Ability to demonstrate commitment to self-improvement by taking the initiative of learning new skills, systems, and procedures, as well as taking advantage of the continuous education opportunities within and outside of the Credit Union.Hungry : Always looking for more. Salary : $33.35 - $41.69 an hour
