Maintenance Tech B

Position Type : Hourly, Non-Exempt

Hours : 730 – 4 with 30 minutes paid break and 30 minutes unpaid lunch

Week A : Su – Th

Week B : M – F

Week C : T – Sa

Week D : M – F

Cycle repeats starting at Week A

Nights, weekends, and overtime as required.

Reports to : Maintenance Manager

Job Summary :

The Maintenance Technician B will be responsible for performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on production equipment

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Duties can include fixing machinery such as gearboxes, pumps, and other rotating equipment, piping, heating systems, and electrical wiring, and inspecting buildings and equipment
  • Complete all maintenance, process, and safety training as required
  • Demonstrates a desire to learn about CCI and its processes
  • Maintains a satisfactory attendance record
  • Repair, install, assemble, adjust, and test new machines and equipment including pumps, piping, valves, etc
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment including vessels, gear boxes, safety showers, fire extinguishers, boilers, etc
  • Work effectively with other team members
  • Able to maintain error free record keeping on preventive maintenance documents
  • Assist in confined space entries, work from ladders and platforms, perform lock-out tag-out procedures in accordance with our safety policy
  • Maintain a safe and well-kept work area
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with all applicable safety policies and procedures
  • Perform basic math
  • Consult with lead and or management regarding equipment downtime
  • Work rotating schedule that includes weekends

Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Work with little to no supervision.
  • Interpret and translate standard operating procedures.
  • Perform basic math.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment .
  • Must have ability to safely use all shop tools such as welder (MIG & TIG), hand tools, grinders, saws, drills, pipe threader, etc.
  • Basic electrical aptitude required.
  • Trained on operating equipment such as fork trucks, scissor lifts, boom lifts, etc.
  • Understand ISO procedures and their role in our operation.
  • Consult with lead and or management regarding equipment downtime.
  • Able to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Computer skills are a plus but not required.
  • Answer call-ins when needed.
  • Work rotating schedule that includes weekends.
  • Education and Experience :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or chemical plant experience preferred.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
