Your role at BHSN :
As a Registered Nurse you will provide health screening, coordination of health referrals, and work in close collaboration with prescribers and staff.
Work Schedule : Monday : 2pm-6pm Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday : 11am-7pm

What your day might look like :
Dispenses medication as prescribed by the psychiatrist / nurse practitionerAdministers injectable medication per prescriber’s orderProvides health monitoring and PROS Health AssessmentsParticipates in the development, writing and execution of the treatment planReviews health screening and makes appropriate recommendationsEducates recipients / staff regarding pertinent medical issues / medicationEnsures the security and inventory of all medications and nursing suppliesPrints prescriber schedules and various reports for prescribers as neededFulfills prior authorization requests for medicationsProvides crisis intervention services as needed, including offsite in the communityForwards reports, labs, notes to PCPs as requestedProcesses incoming triage calls and prepare for prescriber’s reviewUtilizes electronic health record system for all patient documentationAssists with orientation of new nursing staffConducts urine drug screenings in accordance with agency policiesInitiates tobacco cessation interventions when indicatedAttends department meetings and trainings as requiredPerforms other duties as assigned within context of job descriptionYour skills and qualifications :
NYS Department of Education Registered Professional NurseCPR-certifiedExperience providing direct clinical service to the population served by the assigned clinical program is strongly preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage time effectively as well as to organize tasksAbility to work within a multidisciplinary team until collaborate across disciplines and programsBroad clinical knowledge of psychiatric disorders, and psychiatric diagnosisExtensive knowledge with PC applications and electronic medical records strongly preferredValid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required for local and regional travelBHSN is an Equal Opportunity Employer and champions Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across all levels of the organization.
