Job Purpose
Reporting to the Director of Medicine, the Site Medical Director (SMD) is the direct supervisor of the medical staff of their assigned site(s). The SMD is responsible for cultivating site-based identity and culture, onboarding new clinicians, providing clinical oversight, reinforcing quality-improvement activities, overseeing peer review, and ensuring the clinical site is productive and provides safe and effective patient-centered care. The SMD is the site-based clinical leader who works in partnership with nursing leadership (charge nurse or nurse manager), the front desk leader, and practice manager to advance operational excellence at the site.
