Facilities Technician

Responsibilities :
- Perform routine building maintenance tasks including non-technical troubleshooting and repair of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and / or carpentry requests
- Conduct site-wide maintenance to our facilities including painting, patching walls, replacing ceiling / flooring tiles and carpet
- Perform inspections and repairs to assigned site interior and exterior areas to include walls, floors, installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting
- Aid janitorial and hospitality staff with general requests for support including moving furniture, racks / equipment, disposing of garbage using forklifted dumpster bins, set-up and tear down of special event areas
- Manage other campus-wide operations and maintenance programs as assigned by facilities management
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts when needed
- Open, track and resolve electronic work tickets on SpaceX's custom work order system
- Adhere to proper safety guidelines at all times
Basic Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalency certificate2+ years of facilities maintenance experiencePreferred Skills and Experience :
Experience in construction, project management, equipment maintenance, and tenant improvementsExperience with plumbing systems, backflows, lift stations, sewer machines and pumpsExperience with concrete, forming and pouringExperience with engineering and construction principles, methods and codesExperience with industrial compressed air systems and maintenanceExperience with carpentry maintenance tasks including routine sheetrock / drywall installation and / or repair, window replacement, cabinet / countertop replacement, painting / texturing (interior and exterior) and door / hardware installationAbility to read instructions and blueprintsExperience with project management software, MS Excel, Word, or other project tracking softwareExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to understand and follow specific instructions and proceduresSelf-motivated, works well with others and autonomouslySafety training and use of fork lifts, scissor lifts, cranes & hoists, fall protection equipmentAdditional Requirements :
Ability to pass Air Force background check for Vandenberg Space Force BaseAbility to work the following shift, overtime, and weekends as needed :Day Shift : 7 : 00 AM - 5 : 30 PM, Wednesday-SundayAbility to lift 35 lbs. unassistedMust be able to stand for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this positionAbility to work at elevated heights (up to 300 feet), including the use of ladderCompensation and Benefits :
Pay range :
Facilities Technician / Level 1 : $22.00 - $27.00 / hour
Facilities Technician / Level 2 : $26.50 - $32.00 / hour
Facilities Technician / Level 3 : $30.25 - $38.50 / hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations : job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
