Certified Nursing Assistant I-Intermediate Care

Position is located at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. The work type is part time with 24 hours per week. The work schedule is from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM. The summary involves providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Duties include feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients, or changing linens. May also transfer or transport patients.

Responsibilities include :

• Communicating and interacting with patients and families, physicians, peers, and other healthcare members to maximize successful customer outcomes and maximize function of the unit.
• Precepting team members to job function.
• Orienting patients to hospital environment and routine.
• Documenting all aspects of patient care in a timely manner.
• Participating in unit quality improvement initiatives.
• Communicating information and patient needs to oncoming staff at change of shift and to RN in a timely manner for follow up.
• Providing care in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
• Labeling and delivering specimens per policy.
• Maintaining a safe environment complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures; reporting and directly addressing environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and / or protocol when involved or observed.
• May perform other duties upon request.
