Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Waukesha, WI for a Senior Attorney. The Senior Attorney will be responsible for handling complex legal matters, advising county departments, litigating cases, drafting and reviewing contracts, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Additional tasks include providing legal opinions, representing the county in court, and collaborating with other legal professionals to support the county's legal needs.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal laws
• Experience in litigation and courtroom proceedings
• Capability in legal research, drafting, and reviewing legal documents
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with county departments and external stakeholders
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and membership in the Wisconsin State Bar
• Several years of experience in legal practice, preferably in a government or public sector setting
