Electricians on the Fort. Jackson team come from all areas of Columbia. Primary responsibilities of the Electrician are providing electrical services to include repair and / or replacement needs; installing, maintaining and upgrading electrical systems and equipment. The Electrician assist other skilled trades in the maintenance or repair of equipment for the distribution, or utilization of electric energy. The ideal EMI Electrician has well rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
$27.29 / hr. plus $4.93 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities :
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, and fixturesTroubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and componentsConnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other componentsInspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codesTest electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixturesPlan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codesInstall ground leads and connect power cables to equipmentPlace conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxesPerform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objectsProvide preliminary cost estimates for materials and servicesMaintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulationsPerforms other related duties as assignedEssential Skills :
Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the electrical tradeThorough knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and regulations pertaining to the electrical tradeKnowledge of building architectural / structural elements including; alterations and repairsMust be able to read and understand blueprints as appropriate to tradeAdaptable and flexible in work situationsPrioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely mannerPRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies - Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
