Controls Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team at a leading mechanical contracting firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to create accurate Bills of Material (BOM) are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and draft control system layouts using AutoCAD , including wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and schematics.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOM) for control panels, field devices, and system components.
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field technicians to ensure control systems meet project specifications and timelines.
- Program and configure control systems including PLCs, DDCs, and building automation systems (BAS).
- Support installation and commissioning of control systems on job sites.
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues during construction and post-installation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Maintain documentation and records for all control system designs and revisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience in control systems engineering, preferably in mechanical contracting or HVAC.Proficiency in AutoCAD for control system design.Strong understanding of BOM creation , component selection, and panel design.Familiarity with control platforms such as Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Trane .Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and mechanical systems integration.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and collaboration abilities.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Revit or other BIM tools.Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks protocols.Certifications in control systems or automation platforms.What We Offer
