Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Peoria, Illinois (61637) – Central Illinois healthcare jobs Estimated Weekly Salary : $1990 - $2130 Facility Setting : Acute Care – Medical / Surgical Unit (18 beds, primarily private rooms) Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 15 / 2025, End : 3 / 16 / 2026) Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00pm – 7 : 00am), 3 shifts / week Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours / week Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and holiday rotation required Charting System : EPIC EMR Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or proof of application in process BLS certification (AHA required) Minimum 1 year of recent hospital experience (Med / Surg RN experience preferred) Proficient in titrating Heparin drips Negative drug screen required Excellent communication and teamwork skills Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to general medical and surgical patients with diverse diagnoses Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 5-6 : 1 during night shifts Titrate Heparin drips and monitor patient responses as part of clinical support Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including charge nurses, patient care techs, hospitalists, and respiratory therapists Float to other hospital units as needed to provide clinical support Participate in shift reports, weekend, and holiday rotations Initiate IV starts and utilize unit resources as necessary Document patient care using the EPIC electronic medical record system Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
