Sanitation Lead – Food Manufacturing
Location : Portland, OR
Schedule : Minimum 5 days / week, weekend availability required
Pay : Starting at $24 / hour
Employment Type : Full-Time | Non-Exempt | Swing Shift
Reports To : Sanitation Supervisor
We are hiring a Sanitation Lead to join our fast-paced food manufacturing team. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll play a vital part in upholding food safety and sanitation standards while supporting a team of sanitation technicians on your shift. This is a growth-focused position ideal for individuals ready to take the next step in sanitation leadership.
You’ll be responsible for directing daily cleaning activities, enforcing safety and GMP protocols, and stepping into a leadership role in the absence of the Sanitation Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily and weekend sanitation tasks in alignment with production needs and sanitation schedules
Provide clear direction and on-the-floor support to sanitation technicians
Prioritize and manage cleaning activities to meet safety, food safety, and efficiency standards
Assist in meeting product changeover deadlines and maintaining production readiness
Ensure accurate and timely completion of sanitation records and documentation
Operate sanitation equipment including pressure washers, steam units, and vacuums safely and effectively
Collaborate cross-functionally with QA and Maintenance teams to support compliance and resolve issues
What You Bring
Previous experience in sanitation, preferably in a food manufacturing or CPG environment
Ability to lead small teams and communicate clearly with team members and supervisors
Experience working with caustic and sanitation chemicals
Strong understanding of cleaning protocols, GMPs, and safety best practices
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in hot, wet, or damp conditions
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
