About the Role

The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Operational Risk Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Risk Mitigation Framework, which is designed to minimize operational risks and material losses. This role involves overseeing various risk management programs, including Risk and Control Self-Assessment, Issue Management, Vendor Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, and Internal Control Testing. The AVP will also be a subject matter expert for the Vendor Risk Management and Business Continuity Management programs, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Strong project management skills, the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating operational risks are essential. Applicants for the Assistant Vice President position should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with at least 5 years of experience in financial services risk management, third-party / vendor risk management, or a related role. Professional certifications such as Operational Risk Management Certificate, Certified Third Party Risk Management Professional, Certified Internal Auditor, or Financial Risk Manager Designation are preferred. The role requires a candidate with a deep understanding of financial services industry practices, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. Experience with operational loss causes, measures, and mitigation strategies, as well as proficiency in Excel and risk management information systems, is also desirable. The ideal candidate will be assertive, self-motivated, team-oriented, and have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
