Job Description : To process, embed, cut, and stain human tissue. Staining includes routine and special stains. This job profile may require call subject to the department's discretion. Ability to properly orient, embed, and cut tissue using microtome and cryostat, understanding of tissue processing.

Requires occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, frequent exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of
radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and / or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety
considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional activities subject to significant volume
changes of a seasonal / clinical nature, frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending,
occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching / stooping, occasional
kneeling, occasional pushing / pulling, occasional reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and occasional walking.

Requirements :
Education and Experience : Associate's degree with histology experience or trained on-the-job as a Histotechnician in a histology laboratory OR completion of an
accredited Histotech Program or experience within the last five years in all the following areas of histology :
Fixation
Embedding / Microtomy
Processing
Staining
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required : N / A
