Credit & Collections Representative – LHH
The Credit & Collections Representative plays a key role in managing customer credit accounts and collecting outstanding balances. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain positive customer relationships while ensuring timely payments. The ideal candidate will have experience in credit review and collections processes.
Responsibilities
Contact customers via phone and email to collect outstanding balances and negotiate payment arrangements.
Review and analyze new customer credit applications, including trade references and credit reports.
Establish and maintain appropriate credit limits based on company guidelines.
Process and review COD applications and customer-requested lien releases.
Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up on overdue accounts.
Escalate unresolved issues and recommend accounts for third-party collections or write-off when necessary.
Ensure compliance with FDCPA and all applicable laws.
Maintain accurate records of communications and transactions in financial systems.
Collaborate with accounting to reconcile accounts and ensure accurate billing.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns and offering solutions related to accounts.
Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in accounts receivable management and collections.
Strong phone etiquette and professional communication skills.
Familiarity with financial software and basic accounting principles.
Ability to perform account analysis and reconciliation accurately.
Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of credit reports and compliance laws.
Preferred Attributes
Experience in B2B collections and high-volume cash application environments.
Familiarity with credit analysis and financial reporting.
Bilingual skills (if applicable).
