About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Profession : Registered Nurse

Shift : 12-Hour Days

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum 2 years in specialty, with 1 travel contract

License : Active RN License

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring

Must-Have :

• Minimum 2 years in specialty
• 1 travel contract experience
• C-section experience required

Description :

This is a smaller hospital with a focus on Labor and Delivery.

The unit has a mix of LDRP and Level 2 NICU beds.

There are 10 LDRP beds and 1 C-section suite.

The hospital sees approximately 30-60 births per month.

The average nursery census is variable.

The staff follows ACOG guidelines for patient care.

The current charting system utilized is MEDITECH.

Charge nurses will take patients and manage the nursery.

Nurse aides and techs support with patient care tasks.

Weekend requirements are every other weekend; holidays are rotated with permanent staff.

Traveling nurses are not required to take call.

Scrub colors are forest green pants and white tops; hospital scrubs are not provided.

Anesthesia is only in-house if needed for specific cases.

Floating to NICU may occur if experienced.

Common patient diagnoses include those 32 weeks or greater with no other maternal risk factors.

Mothers with underlying health conditions may be transferred out.

Antepartum care for stable conditions may be provided.
