Overview
The Store Associate supports the current and future goals within our Stores by adhering to all procedures and programs outlined in the Operations Division of GATE. They will participate in the daily operations of the store, including food service as an entire entity. The Store Associate will actively learn, participate, train on all current and future programs, continually monitor progress, and ensure all employees uphold GATE standards.
Responsibilities
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and adhere to GATE attendance policy.
- Arrive to work on time and in proper attire as per GATE standards for uniform and appearance.
- Attend required training, safety courses, and department meetings; report and help address safety hazards to maintain a safe work environment.
- Provide friendly, accurate customer service; greet customers and assist with questions about products or services.
- Handle all payments following GATE policies and operate store equipment in accordance with daily duties.
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked store through merchandising, stocking shelves, pricing, and fronting products; ensure products are in code.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and communicate effectively with customers and staff.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance of store equipment as needed; de-escalate issues and solve problems to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to all policy requirements related to robberies, safety, and the handling of petroleum products.
- Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Qualifications
Must be of legal age to sell alcohol and tobacco products.Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.Must be able to communicate effectively in English (read, write, and speak).Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to stand for extended periods.Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and reach (including overhead).Ability to work in varying and extreme temperatures.Must possess basic reading, writing and math skills and be able to operate a personal computer.Ability to understand and comply with company policies and procedures related to safety and handling of petroleum products.Job Knowledge
