Assistant Director Of Recreation
Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is looking for an Assistant Director of Recreation. As a member of the Pools team, the Assistant Director of Recreation works across disciplines to deliver an exceptional experience.
The Assistant Director position provides administrative, technical and analytical support to the Recreation management team. The Assistant Director contributes to the planning, organization and training necessary to achieve pool and beach objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, communication and awareness, guest service and satisfaction, food quality and compliance.
Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees, supervisors and Assistant Managers in the Recreation Department to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met; daily activities and planning for operation.
Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.
Remain visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, residents, and group contacts.
Describe and ensure quality of all food & beverage items, amenities, ingredients, and preparation methods.
Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments; conduct pre-shift meetings with staff.
Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment and make recommendations for corrections and improvements.
Complete and provide performance evaluations for employees, providing constructive criticism and coaching as needed.
Possess the ability to be creative and target trends that can be applied to the recreation operation.
Work tirelessly to surprise and delight guests in order to create an exceptional and unparalleled guest experience.
Required by the Hawaii State Department of Health to obtain a Tuberculous (TB) clearance card when working in food and beverage.
One to two years previous experience in a Manager or Assistant Manager position.
Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States.
