The Part-Time Lead Custodian performs moderately heavy manual work and janitorial service for the maintenance of building facilities.
What you will be doing
- Acts as a lead worker and supervisor to four or more part-time Custodians as assigned
- Performs and supervises daily cleaning procedures in accordance with assigned work areas
- Records work completed on Area Assignment Checklist
- Maintains Custodial Services warehouse in a clean and neat manner
- Provides supplies to employees as needed
- Maintains log sheet for supplies, and equipment sign-out log
- Supplies Custodial Services janitor closets with supplies at designated par levels
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
Completion of Two (2) years of High School education and one (1) month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiencePossess basic communication skills in English both orally and in writingMust be able to lift up to 75 lbsCapable of standing, walking, squatting, bending, kneeling, and reaching continuously throughout shiftCapable of pushing / pulling a maid cart / trash cart up to 100 lbs. on concrete, tile and carpeted floors frequentlyCapable of pushing / pulling furniture 25 to 100 lbs occasionallyKnowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and proceduresAbility to demonstrate neat and organized skills to maintain warehouse in same mannerAbility to communicate well with othersAbility to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed per area assignmentAbility to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staffEssential Position
