About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse - Long Term Care

Shift : 12 Hour Variable

Hours per Shift : 36

Experience : Minimum of 1.5 years of experience preferred.

License : Must be licensed through the state Board of Nursing.

Certifications : BLSE required.

Must-Have : Long-term care experience preferred. Ability to act as Charge RN. Team player with a positive attitude. Must comply with COVID testing twice a week.

Description :

The unit has a total of 52 beds.

Patient types include long-term care and rehab / skilled nursing facility residents.

The facility does not have a memory care unit.

Common diagnoses include stable, dementia, and typical nursing home patients.

Comfort care patients require collaboration with hospice RNs as needed.

There are no tracheostomies or ventilators present, but occasional feeding tubes, IVs, and catheter care may be required.

Patient ratios are Nurse 1 : 25-30 (2 nurses per shift—RN / LPN or LPN / LPN).

An RN must be in the building for 8 hours daily.

Medication Aide ratio is 1 : 25-30 (2 per shift).

CNA ratio is 1 : 10 (5 per shift).

Required skills include tube feeds, ostomy care, dressing / wound care, phlebotomy, and IV starts.

Nurses must remain flexible and may be reassigned to different shifts.

Weekend rotation requires working at least every other weekend.

Holidays require working 2 of 4 major holidays.

Time off is permitted for up to 7 days without approval.

Scrubs required are ceil blue tops and black pants.

No artificial nails are allowed.

In inclement weather, staff must remain on-site if required.
