Manufacturing Engineer | St. Johns, MI

Salary Range : $71,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Design, validate, and procure tooling, fixtures, and equipment for production.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by defining manufacturing requirements and ensuring successful launch.
  • Analyze and resolve production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and BOMs.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure product manufacturability and quality.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or a related engineering field.
  • Proficiency in CAD / CAM software for design, tooling, and process simulation.
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, assembly, automation, welding).
  • Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Bonus Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience with MES or ERP system implementation / integration
  • Proficiency in 3D manufacturing simulation software (e.g., Arena, FlexSim)
  • Hands-on experience with automation and robotics programming / integration
