Cardiac rhythm interpretation

Chest tube management

Blood product administration

Wound care and dressing changes

Management of central lines

Description :

We are seeking an RN for our Progressive Care Unit.

This unit cares for patients who do not require mechanical ventilation.

Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, dysrhythmias, chest pain evaluations, stroke, abdominal illnesses, infections, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, acute kidney injury / chronic kidney disease, alcohol withdrawal, and intravenous drug use.

The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 : 4, but may increase to 1 : 5 based on patient acuity.

Support staff includes CNAs for activities of daily living and charge nurses to assist with nursing care.

Phlebotomy services are available for blood draws.

Respiratory therapy is available 24 / 7.

Hospitalist and intensivist services are also available around the clock.

Telemetry monitoring is conducted at both the bedside and nurses' station.

Floating to other facilities is a requirement based on regional needs.

Nurses may be compensated for travel time between facilities if floating mid-shift.

Scheduling includes weekend rotation every other week, with no on-call requirements.

Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.

Requesting time off is permitted, with up to six days off, excluding holidays.

The unit culture is family-oriented.

Scrub color is navy.
