Position Summary :
The Athletic Trainer (ATC) is responsible for assisting Physicians and / or Mid-level Providers in the clinic setting, hospital, and DME department. Duties include fitting and educating patients on Durable Medical Equipment (DME), applying / removing casts, coordinating insurance and billing, and acting as a liaison among staff, physicians, and DME supervisors. Also, maintains equipment, supplies, and exam rooms.
Essential Job Functions / Accountabilities :
- Ensure patient forms are complete, current, and entered into the system. Check EMR for progress notes and orders, prepare charge tickets, and respond to stat orders.
- Enter DME charges with appropriate modifiers, conduct accurate dispensing, and manage inventory.
- Obtain insurance authorizations, explain coverage to patients, and fit patients with prescribed orthoses, including evaluation, modification, and training.
- Schedule DME appointments, send referrals based on insurance restrictions, and provide backup coverage in the office.
- Maintain office equipment, order supplies, clean and sterilize examination rooms, and report repairs.
- Assist physicians with procedures, gather equipment, position patients, and respond to instructions. Remove dressings, apply / remove casts, and educate patients on DME.
- Provide patient education on care plans, ensure proper documentation, and attend departmental meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field from an accredited program.Experience : 3-5 years preferred.Licenses / Certifications : Ohio license to practice Athletic Training, BOC certification preferred, BLS required.Schedule : Monday-Friday, Part-Time (32 hours / week).J-18808-Ljbffr
