Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 02 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Job Title : PCU Registered Nurse (RN) Location : Columbia, SC Shift : Day 3x12-Hour (07 : 00 – 19 : 00), every other weekend, float as needed Unit : CC003517 COL - Nursing 4E (DMC), patient ratio 1 : 4 Facility : Acute Care Hospital, Level III Trauma, 304 staffed beds Charting System : Epic Key Notes : Travelers may float within scope if needed Interdisciplinary support : PT, Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response, Transportation, Unit Secretary Job Overview : Provide PCU nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity telemetry / stepdown unit. The RN will monitor patient conditions, manage acute cardiac, respiratory, neuro, GI, endocrine, and post-op care, collaborate with the care team, and deliver safe, high-quality care. Responsibilities : Monitor telemetry, vitals, and dysrhythmias; manage cardiac drips, heparin protocols, and vasoactive medications Provide IV therapy, central / peripheral / PICC line care, and blood product administration Care for ventilated patients, trach, chest tubes, CPAP / BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula Manage neuro (stroke, seizures, substance withdrawal), GI (feeding tubes, GI bleeds), endocrine (IV insulin), and post-op wound care Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team Maintain documentation and follow hospital policies Requirements : SC or Multi-State RN license (pending accepted with proof of application) Minimum 2 years RN experience; PCU / Telemetry experience BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred Epic experience required Ability to work days, weekends, and float within scope Strong multitasking, critical reasoning, and communication skills Additional Information : Weekly hours : 36 Patient age groups : Adults, Geriatrics About HonorVet Technologies HonorVet Technologies : Pioneering Purpose, Empowering Heroes Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) , proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs .
