Job Summary

The Craft Center at UC San Diego serves campus and external community practitioners in various disciplines of artistic craftsmanship, and individuals through all sectors interested in arts or artistic pursuits. Under the supervision of the Craft Center Manager, the Craft Center Program Instructor is responsible for instructing UCSD students, Non-UC students, staff & faculty members in non-credit classes and / or one-day workshops. Instructors will demonstrate applicable skills in the required field.

Positions to be hired include

Ceramics Instructor, Jewelry Making Instructor, Surfboard Shaping Instructor, Wheel Throwing Instructor, Handbuilding Instructor, Gallery Wheel Instructor, Soapmaking Instructor, Woodworking Instructor, Culinary Art Instructor and Mixed Media Instructor.

Responsibilities

• Instruct non-credit classes and / or one-day workshops for UCSD students, staff, faculty, and external participants.
• Demonstrate applicable skills in the required discipline and maintain safe practices.
• Adapt instruction to diverse groups and individual needs; develop programs geared to group and individual learning goals.
