DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, performs a variety of work duties which requires specific knowledge and training in patient care duties within business and professions code of the State of California and / or the regulations The Joint Commission (TJC).
These duties also include but are not limited to : environmental care functions, equipment / supply management and cleaning / disinfecting the environment. Incumbents may also provide front office services on a routine or back-up basis. The Medical Assistant performs additional clinical responsibilities in specialized health fields and utilizes additional certification and / or training to support procedures, technical functions, or other higher level specialist duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Two (2) years recent experience as a MA in an ambulatory medical practice.
Ambulatory Care or Surgical practice experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong knowledge of insurances.

Annual Full Pay Range : $52,847 - $65,772 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent : $25.31 - $31.50
