Base Pay Range : $300,000.00 / yr - $325,000.00 / yr

Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval and award amounts (up to $200,000) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. The position is an open continuous announcement and will remain open until December 15, 2025.

Qualifications

• United States citizenship. Non-citizens may be appointed only when qualified citizens cannot be recruited in accordance with VA Policy.
• Doctor of Medicine, or an equivalent degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine, from a VA-approved school for the year in which the degree was completed.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
• Physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty status. Approved residencies include those accredited by ACGME, AOA, or other residencies with at least five years of U.S. practice deemed satisfactory by the local Medical Staff Executive Committee.
• Residency in training may be recognized as a Physician Resident Provider (PRP) under specific conditions; PRPs must hold a full physician license and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee‑basis.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Board certification in Dermatology.
• Physical requirements : Must pass a physical examination and meet physical standards for the position, including but not limited to lifting 15‑44 pounds, pushing, reaching above shoulder height, using fingers and both hands, walking and standing for 3‑5 hours, and performing tasks that require rapid mental and muscular coordination. Depth perception and color discrimination are also required.
• Compliance with the designated drug‑testing policy and random testing for illegal drug use after appointment.
