Overview :

Nurchure Staffing Solutions is seeking a dedicated Locum Tenens Psychiatrist to join a community-based mental health diversion program in Los Angeles. This program helps individuals with serious mental health needs receive treatment rather than incarceration, supporting long-term stability and reintegration into outpatient care.

Our care teams include therapists, case managers, prescribers, and nurses who meet patients in the field and work collaboratively over months to years. After orientation, physicians typically complete field rounds with a partner or team, and documentation can be completed remotely via secure, web-based clinical tools.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Conduct field-based psychiatric evaluations and treatment.
  • Diagnose and manage the mental health needs of adults with forensic histories.
  • Prescribe, dispense, and monitor psychotropic medications on a temporary basis.
  • Document responses and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on assessments, treatment planning, and interventions.
  • Participate in daily case consultations to ensure coordinated care.

Qualifications :

  • Commitment to community psychiatry and patient advocacy.
  • Experience in forensic or field-based psychiatry preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems, email, and Microsoft Office tools.
