Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 educational opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing in Sumter, SC, on a contract basis for the current school year. This position focuses on supporting students with hearing impairments by providing specialized instruction and fostering munication skills that enhance their academic success and social development.

Responsibilities include :

• Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to Deaf / Hard of Hearing students
• Utilizing appropriate munication methods such as sign language, auditory training, and speech reading
• Collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure inclusive learning experiences
• Monitoring student progress and adapting instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Providing advocacy and resources to families regarding Deaf / Hard of Hearing education and services
