Key Account Manager - Ophthalmology

About Apellis
At Apellis we are entering an exciting time with our first ever expected product launch in ophthalmology. Apellis will be introducing a first-in-class and first-to-market treatment option in eye care for geographic atrophy, a condition with a high unmet medical need and leading cause of blindness around the world. Currently no treatment is available for geographic atrophy.
Key Responsibilities Include :
- You engage with relevant HCPs within the assigned territory and will be responsible for the successful launch of a novel treatment for a retina disease.
- You explore and assess the potential of customers, build expert networks, and connect new dots along the patient journey and you provide key data, information for the treatment
- You build trusted relations to KOL in hospitals, clinical centers, and expert groups, further with players from public healthcare and patient groups via physical meetings and virtual channels.
- You adopt and execute the overcall regional and country strategy within your territory and report regularly key measures and information out from the field to the commercial head
- You collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medical affairs, market access, and sales operations, to ensure successful execution of account plans.
- You provide product education and clinical support to healthcare professionals to increase product adoption and utilization.
- You conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to review sales performance and identify opportunities for growth. You stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activities to adapt account strategies
- You manage resources effectively to ensure that all activities are executed within budget and in compliance with policies and procedures
Education, Registration & Certification :
You have at least a bachelor's degreeExperience :
You have at least 3 years of Sales Experience in specialty care that include launch experience, ideally from the TA in ophthalmology.You have a proven track record that shows us your performance with a new organization, launching a new product into a specialty care market.You are a trusted and reliable partner for KOL and customers, and you are highly competent to stand high level talks where you communicate and condense top information.You have strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective account plansSkills, knowledge and abilities :
