Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Project Manager (Construction) located in Lorton, VA. The Project Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of stonework projects. Day-to-day tasks include managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, coordinating with clients, architects, and construction teams, and ensuring project milestones are met. The role also involves inspecting project sites, managing logistics, and expediting the delivery of materials to ensure timely project completion.

Responsibilities

  • Review the project's contract and specifications while managing the preparation of submittals, including samples, shop drawings, product data, testing documents, work plans, and other required submissions.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all contract requirements and the scope of work.
  • Negotiate, award, and issue purchase agreements or subcontracts for all suppliers and subcontractors on approved contract templates.
  • Manage all quality control factory visits to suppliers. Coordinates mock-ups, slab displays, and all dry sets of finished goods.
  • Manage and coordinate all freight, customs clearance, and delivery of the materials.
  • Actively manage all drafting and anchor design.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and track change orders.
  • Prepare draft documents of the monthly pay applications.
  • Maintain RFI logs and manage positive solutions to meet the contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Production Manager to ensure the fabrication of all required pieces aligns with the project schedule.
  • Coordinate field installation with the General Superintendent and the foremen.
  • Conduct a monthly review of project status, including financials, material delivery, installation schedule, and cost-to-complete, with the EVP, President, and Accounting Manager.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline, or relevant work experience
  • 8+ years of experience in commercial construction.
  • Experience managing projects successfully from start to close-out
  • Understanding of the strategic, operational, and financial components of a construction project
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, experience in Bluebeam, desired
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, fabrication tickets, and specifications
  • Previous experience in stonework or construction projects is advantageous
  • Foreign language is a plus for overseas supplier management
  • Attentiveness to detail
  • Ability to make timely and effective decisions
  • Ability to supervise multiple projects simultaneously
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, with a strong ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong work ethic, leadership, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Salary Range

    $110,000 - $150,000

    This job involves working in both an office and a field setting. You should expect to make frequent visits to active job sites, where you may need to navigate uneven terrain, climb scaffolding, ladders, and other structures. When not at the job site, you will be working in our office located in Lorton, VA.
