JOB PURPOSE : Provides nursing services under the supervision and direction of a physician, advanced practice registered nurse, physician assistant, or registered nurse. Focuses on patient safety and is required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of practice and in accordance with federal, state and local regulatory agencies; in accordance with established standards of the Nurse Practice Act, accepted medical / nursing standards, policies and procedures of Spindletop Center. Will be responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and focused nursing care to assigned consumers with predictable health care needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : Graduate of an accredited course in licensed or practical vocational nursing.

DEGREE AND / OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED (IF APPLICABLE) : Valid Texas license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse issued by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.

DRIVING REQUIRED : Yes

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :

• Possess exceptional skills in oral and written communication using a computer and electronic medical record-related software applications, word processing, spreadsheets and specific databases.
• Ability to compose documents according to departmental and state standards.
• Ability to input data into computer, make calculations, complete paperwork, produce reports.
• Computer-skilled in the use of technology with Microsoft Office and all Google applications.
• Skilled in delivering professional customer service and detail oriented work.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work to complete in a timely manner.
• Familiarity with community resources.
• Ability to build rapport with individuals and support systems.
