We are hiring a Senior Scientist, Scientific Affairs, who will be responsible for the evaluation of scientific literature to support claims substantiation and compliance of products for GPN’s global business. This includes identifying and evaluating new ingredients, technologies and products for compliance and efficacy, substantiating marketing claims, and designing and overseeing clinical trials and analyzing the data to evaluate efficacy of products.

Responsibilities for the Sr Scientist, Scientific Affairs include:

• Perform scientific evaluation of new products, ingredients and technologies to determine viability and application to GPN across various brands and regions. Develop and propose substantiated product claims for use on packaging and other marketing materials. Monitor current scientific literature for new and emerging information in health and nutrition that can be applied to, or result in, new products or claims.
• Design, manage and implement GPN sponsored clinical studies. Design and write appropriate clinical trial protocols, case report forms, investigator brochures, clinical study reports and clinical sections of regulatory documents. Analyze and interpret data to develop marketing claims, charts and other scientifically substantiated communications and marketing assets. Collaborate closely with internal teams to support activities necessary for successful commercialization of clinically researched nutritional products.
• Communicate sound science information (written or oral) within the company and to targeted external groups in order to enhance business initiatives. Serve as the scientific expert to collaborate with various groups within and outside the company to address business needs.
• Assist in activities related to engagement with academic, industry, and regulatory partners
• Attend relevant trade shows and scientific conferences

Education and Training:

• MS in Exercise Physiology or Related Field with 5+ years industry experience OR PhD with 2+ years postdoc or industry experience preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
• Previous clinical research experience including experience with quantitative methods of research design and evaluating new technologies
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
• Knowledge of Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Council of Harmonization (ICH) guidelines as applicable

As the Senior Scientist, you will work across functions within R&D, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, and Consumer Affairs representing a safety and regulatory perspective within multi-disciplinary internal teams, as well as with external scientists and regulators.
