Overview

Georgia McBride Media Group (GMMG) is a multi-division entertainment company spanning book publishing, a literary agency, and film & TV production. We represent bestselling and emerging authors and are committed to building strong, engaged audiences around their work across platforms.

Role

We are seeking a part-time freelance Author Social Media Manager to oversee and grow an author’s social media presence across platforms with emphasis on TikTok / BookTok, Instagram, and other relevant platforms. The ideal candidate will not only manage day-to-day posting but also provide strategic insight, content planning, and creative execution to increase engagement and build the author’s brand. This is a part-time, freelance role with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the author’s audience growth and community engagement. MUST LOVE ROMANCE BOOKS!

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily / weekly / monthly posting and scheduling across TikTok, Instagram, and other relevant platforms.
  • Create, curate, and edit engaging content aligned with the author’s brand and audience.
  • Identify and leverage trending audio, memes, and BookTok trends to maximize reach.
  • Develop and execute a growth and engagement strategy with measurable goals.
  • Monitor analytics and provide insights / reports on performance.
  • Stay ahead of social media, book publishing, and pop culture trends.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years experience in social media management (publishing, entertainment, or related creative industries a +).
  • Proven track record of driving growth and engagement across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and Threads.
  • Deep familiarity with and an understanding of TikTok / BookTok and current social trends.
  • Strong creative instincts, excellent copywriting and content editing skills.
  • Desired Candidate Profile

  • Be self-directed, highly organized, and proactive—comfortable working independently.
  • Live and breathe social media; naturally curious and plugged into online communities, best practices, and trends.
  • Have strong video editing skills including transitions, audio mixing, etc.
  • Know how to capture an audience’s attention quickly and consistently.
  • You’ve developed your own social media following and can demonstrate active and consistent engagement with your content
  • Compensation

    Commensurate with experience and in the range of $2-3k / month.

    Location

    Remote / flexible.
