Epoch Games is hiring : Lead 3D Game Artist in Winston-Salem

Job Description

In this volunteer position, you will be managing and reviewing the 3D work of a team of talented 3D Artists who create high-quality, textured 3D assets for The Lays of Althas : Sundered Order (LoA : SO), a PC game currently in development. We seek someone knowledgeable in creating 3D Models and Textures with a good eye for critique.

Communication is key to a smooth and efficient pipeline. You must communicate clearly and effectively with other team members and not hesitate to ask questions should any problems arise. We are an English-speaking team, so English fluency is a must.

Other duties include following team policies (provided during team orientation upon acceptance) and attending meetings through Slack (our instant messaging program).

This is a volunteer position, so no monetary compensation is offered. We also cannot provide work visas. We are only looking for spare-time hours.

At this time, we rely on free (or previously licensed) software. Please refer to the applications listed below for guidelines. We do not endorse piracy in any form.

Qualifications

• Good communication and team collaboration skills are a must.
• Ability to manage others, especially 3D Game Artists.
• Ability to provide constructive criticism and feedback on 3D Models and Textures.
• Knowledge of Physically-based Rendering (PBR) for game modeling / sculpting is required.
• Knowledge of working with low-poly / game-ready assets is required.
• Knowledge of Texturing (Diffuse, Normal, Displacement, etc.) is required.
• A passion for game development.
