Job description

The Test Leader is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing testing activities for manufacturing-related software systems (e.g., MES, MOM, ERP integration, IoT systems). This role ensures that system quality meets business and production standards through structured testing processes, traceability, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Test Management

  • Develop and own the overall test strategy , test plan, and test schedule for the manufacturing system project.
  • Define test scope, entry / exit criteria , and quality metrics aligned with project goals.
  • Manage the test team (onsite / offshore), assign tasks, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with business analysts, developers, and production engineers to clarify requirements and defect priorities.

2. Test Execution & Quality Assurance

  • Oversee all testing phases : Unit, Integration, System, UAT, Regression, and Performance .
  • Validate integration between systems such as MOM ERP (SAP), MES / PLC / SCADA, WMS, etc.
  • Perform end-to-end validation of production flows (Order Execution Reporting).
  • Ensure defects are properly logged, triaged, tracked, and resolved in defect tracking systems (Jira).
  • 3. Process & Documentation

  • Prepare and maintain Test Plan, Test Cases, Traceability Matrix, Test Summary Report .
  • Establish and enforce testing standards and best practices in the manufacturing environment.
  • Conduct defect review meetings and go-live readiness assessments .
  • Support validation documentation for FDA, GMP, ISO compliance (if applicable).
  • 4. Leadership & Communication

  • Mentor and guide team members on domain knowledge, tools, and processes.
  • Act as the primary testing contact for internal and external stakeholders (client, vendor, QA, and development teams).
  • Facilitate communication between manufacturing engineers and software development teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for test automation and CI / CD integration.
