A Core Tax Services Senior Associate is responsible for utilizing research skills, applying tax foundational knowledge to understand potential tax issues, gathering client information necessary for filing, participating in tax planning, recognizing and communicating potential risks, preparing tax accrual workpapers and working with tax software applications to complete tax returns for review. In this role, the Core Tax Services Senior Associate will act as the main client contact for general questions and information and may be charged with supervising and reviewing the work of Core Tax Services Associates.
- Review and prepare basic to complex investment partnership tax returns in the hedge funds, private equity, or venture fund industries
- Knowledge of composite partnership tax returns a plus.
- Performs research and completes consulting projects
- Interacts directly with clients and their advisors
- Communicates with supervisors, engagement team, and clients the status of projects
- Assists with administrative responsibilities including billing, recruiting, attendance and participation in CPE activities and training
- Other duties as required
- Qualifications
Education :
Bachelors degree in Accounting or other relevant field requiredMasters degree in Accounting beneficial, masters degree in taxation preferredExperience :
Three (3) to five (5) years of prior experienceExperience with partnerships preferredPrior basic supervisory experience preferredPrior experience preparing and reviewing of tax provisions preferredLicense / Certifications :
Passed CPA Exam preferredSoftware :
Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe AcrobatExperience with tax research databases such as BNA and RIA Proficient in all tax compliance process software including GoFileRoom, GoSystemRS, Caseware, BNA Depreciation Software, or comparable programs and standard tax workpapersOther Knowledge, Skills Abilities :
