Human Resources Generalist

The position is located within NAF Human Resources Branch, Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Human Resources Supervisor Specialist. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for technical support work such as staffing, employee relations, employee development, and administering employee benefits. The incumbent will be required to successfully complete a 12-month probationary period.

Major duties include :

• Recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
• Working closely with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Managing the full life cycle of the talent acquisition process for assigned departments.
• Processing and maintaining records necessary and paperwork required by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and internal MCCS policies and procedures.
• Providing information and assistance in administering the employee benefits program, including Group Health, Dental & Life Insurance, 401(K) Savings Plan, Group Retirement Plan, Workers Compensation, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Paid Parental Leave (PPL), and Leave Donations.
• Maintaining a high degree of contact with employees and providing advice and assistance to employees regarding employee benefit problems and issues.
• Conducting orientation classes, briefings, and seminars.
• Reviewing related rules, regulations, and internal instructions providing input for comment.
• Explaining rules and regulations pertaining to assigned functions to employees.
• Providing world class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy.
• Adhering to safety regulations and standards.
• Promptly reporting any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and / or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
• Adhering to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
