Position Summary : The organization is investing in database platform maturity, automation, and delivery speed. This role is a deliberate step toward reducing operational drag while enabling future platform leadership. The hire is expected to grow with the role. The management track / successor aspect is intentional and should be discussed transparently with qualified candidates. This role is a technical leadership position with a clear successor trajectory. The individual hired into this role is expected to grow into broader platform leadership responsibilities over time as part of planned capability expansion. The role is not a backfill for an existing individual contributor. It is intentionally designed to become a force multiplier and future lead for database platform engineering. The hiring manager will remain accountable for overall platform direction. This role is expected to mature into owning day-to-day technical execution and cross team coordination.

Primary Responsibilities / Accountabilities :

• Operate as the primary technical lead for database platforms.
• Represent database platform concerns cross functional planning and design discussions.
• Mentor and guide other engineers and DBAs to become database platform engineers.
• Be capable of assuming broader platform leadership responsibilities as the organization evolves.
• Take ownership of database platform automation and CI CD patterns.
• Stabilize and standardize Snowflake and enterprise database deployment practices.
• Reduce delivery friction for application and data teams through automation and standards.
• Act as a trusted technical lead across database, cloud, and DevOps teams.
