JOB SUMMARY : The therapist treats pediatric clients in the Easterseals Therapy Programs in outpatient therapy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Responsible for treatment planning and implementation with peer review indicating acceptable quality of clinical skills under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist.
- Provides client and family education.
- Achieves productivity goals on a regular basis.
- Adheres to Easterseals attendance policies with all clients.
- Documents results of client progress notes and summaries as required by contract, billing information, as well as justifications for equipment, payment, and treatment according to policy timeframes.
- Proficient with the use of EMR and related applications ( i.e. EMR, office 365, Outlook, Teams)
- Facilitates coordinated care for pediatric therapy clients, providing consultations and follow-up with the clinical team, parents / guardians, and supervisor.
- Manages caseload with regular communication with supervising OT to ensure best practice and quality care.
- Maintain organized files of patient information and related clerical tasks.
- Assist the OT in completing various administrative duties including monitoring POC dates for current clients.
- Provides therapy in other Easterseals programs while demonstrating flexibility and willingness to assume and complete other responsibilities. Achieves goals and objectives within the defined timeframes.
- Preserves the integrity and confidentiality of protected health information of Easter Seals clients.
- Understands, acknowledges, and implements Easterseals privacy policies involving the disclosure of protected health information of Easterseals clients.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to self-development.
- Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment.
- Completes all assignments and responsibilities, is flexible and a team player.
- Acts in accordance with the Easterseals behavioral expectations, mission, vision and values.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
Associates Degree-COTAPrevious pediatric therapy experience preferredLicensed to practice in the state of FloridaMust have an NPI numberKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Excellent interpersonal skills.Excellent oral and written communications skills.Basic Computer skills and experience with and Electronic Medical Record.Demonstrates a strong commitment to self-development.Positive attitude towards individuals with disabilities and the Easter Seals work environment and philosophy.Willingness to be flexible.Possess the qualities of integrity, tact, and good judgment.PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES :
Able to lift and carry children weighing up to 50 pounds.Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.Able to see clearly, close up, and within a ten-foot area.Able to express or exchange ideas, indicate client progress, and home care needs by spoken word and in written communication.Operate a computer, copier and fax machines.USE OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT :
Computer Navigation skills / EMR experience preferredKnowledge of therapy related equipment and safety precautionsWORK ENVIRONMENT :
