Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs) Assignment Length : 13 weeks (November 17, 2025 – February 14, 2026) Healthcare Setting : Medical-Surgical / Orthopedics (60% ortho, 40% general medical) Shift : 12-hour nights Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Requirements : 2-3 weekends per month, based on unit needs Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680-$1800 Travel Nursing Experience : Prior travel RN experience required Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact State (required upon start) Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg nursing experience BLS certification (required) Complete work history with all gaps over 90 days explained Current skills checklist and copy of Nursys / license All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application Teaching hospital experience preferred Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible for this travel RN job Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients on a busy Med / Surg Orthopedics unit Provide clinical care for both orthopedic and general medical patients Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Float to other nursing units as needed, based on facility requirements Accurately document all patient care activities in the electronic medical record Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training as required Why Choose Lynchburg, VA?
