Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in New York requiring an active NY RN license and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.

Responsibilities

  • Position is within a 349-bed acute care teaching hospital with a level 2 trauma designation
  • Labor & Delivery unit features 9 labor beds, 6 triage beds, and 3 PACU beds
  • Handles approximately 2,500 deliveries annually with a high-risk OB population
  • Night shift schedule from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM
  • Responsibilities include labor support, fetal monitoring interpretation, circulating c-sections, and post-anesthesia care
  • Travelers may provide care in triage, PACU, and labor settings as needed
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are eligible at a reduced rate
  • Travelers are required to complete online training modules prior to starting assignment
  • Past employees may require a formal review process before returning
  • Timekeeping is managed via Kronos system
  • Scrub requirements will be specified during onboarding

    • Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required
  • Current AHA certifications : BLS and NRP
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required (Advanced EFM not accepted)
  • Experience circulating in the OR for c-sections and providing PACU / recovery room care
  • Recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of current L&D experience preferred, especially in a high-risk OB setting
  • Two recent professional references from prior managers within the past year
