Summary / Objective : The Risk Coordinator supports the company's mission statement by performing a wide variety of risk management efforts across construction projects, ensuring Trade Partner compliance, and managing insurance documentation. This role also plays a key part in managing Trade Partner default insurance programs and claims processes.
Essential Functions :
- Support and coordinate Trade Partner onboarding and prequalification processes.
- Maintain accurate records of Trade Partner compliance and insurance documentation.
- Track and issue certificates of insurance for Vendors and Clients.
- Coordinate insurance renewals and ensure timely updates.
- Assist in preparing risk analysis reports and presenting findings to management.
- Coordinate with insurance carriers and Executive Leadership to evaluate coverage and claims issues and investigate claims.
- Conduct detailed review of various contracts and agreements that the company is entering into or renewing.
- Support the Director of Administrative Services with Contract / RFP document reviews and project start-up support.
- Work with Harper Insurance Partners and Surety agencies in providing the correct insurance and bonds for Projects being performed by Harper.
- Review and analyze contractual documents and determine appropriate insurance coverage required.
- Negotiate with Trade Partners to finalize Master Agreements used between both parties for current and future work endeavors.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
- Assist in coordinating with Preconstruction, Operations, Safety, and Senior Leadership with Trade Partner default insurance programs, including enrollment, tracking, and reporting.
- Additional projects and duties to assist managers within the department.
- Make recommendations for the development and revision of risk management documents, procedures, and forms; assist in the development of policies, and regulations.
- Identify potential risk exposure; advise administration of unusual trends or problems and recommend appropriate corrective action.
- Serve as primary contact and resource for Operations leaders to address project level risk management issues, questions and concerns while maintaining good working relationships and building credibility with employees and leaders.
- Obtain and maintain a high-level understanding of the operating group's goals and strategies and utilize this knowledge to provide constructive risk mitigation consultation

Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Construction Management, or related field preferred.Prior experience in legal, risk, or insurance within the construction industry is a plus.Perform responsible risk management support work with accuracy, speed, and minimal direction.Familiarity with construction contracts and insurance requirements.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Review situations accurately and determine appropriate course of action using judgment according to established policies and procedures.Supervisory Responsibilities : None.
Work Environment : Typical office hours, Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM. Hours may vary depending on demand. 80% Sitting, 20% Standing or Walking.
Physical Demands : Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work. No special physical demands are required to perform the work but usually involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts, driving an automobile, etc. While this work typically is not physically demanding, it can be mentally demanding, with many deadlines needing to be met consistently.
Travel Required : Minimal but may be required from time to time for errands, regional office meetings, construction job site visits, or company events.
