Overview

The Otolaryngology Physician (Sinus / Sleep Specialist) provides comprehensive ear, nose, throat, and sleep medicine services to veterans in accordance with the standards of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and The Joint Commission. The physician is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing a wide range of ENT and sleep-related disorders and performing advanced sinus and anterior skull base surgeries.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct outpatient clinics for ENT and sleep disorders, including pre- and post-operative consultations.
• Perform surgical procedures such as endoscopic sinus surgery, septoplasty, polypectomy, skull base surgeries, tracheostomy, laryngoscopy, and sleep apnea–related surgeries.
• Manage patients with complex sinonasal and sleep-related pathologies.
• Provide emergency and inpatient consultation as required.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and tumor boards as applicable.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records using VA systems (CPRS / VistA).
• Ensure compliance with VA directives, patient safety protocols, and HIPAA standards.
• Maintain current CME and BLS / ACLS certifications.
