Position Summary

The Director of Accounting will oversee all accounting operations across Lupoli Companies’ multi-entity portfolio, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, tax compliance, and effective treasury management. The role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, strategic insight, and the ability to manage and develop a high-performing accounting team. The ideal candidate would be a CPA with significant accounting and tax experience and prior leadership in both hospitality / food & beverage and real estate industries.

Key Responsibilities

Technical

• Lead planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting by producing financial statements, management reports, and KPIs to track the company’s performance.
• Collaborate with department leaders to align financial planning with business goals.
• Ensure that financial statements are completed in accordance with accounting standards and month-end close requirements.
• Conduct monthly reviews of financial statements with the VP of Finance.
• Direct all tax planning, compliance, and reporting, ensuring timely filings and optimized strategies.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal control systems and segregation of duties to ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee the company’s cash flow and treasury operations, optimizing liquidity and ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Provide leadership to support the company’s growth by collaborating across departments on strategy and execution.
• Drive process improvement initiatives and lead accounting systems implementations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture.
