Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Summary

We are looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our patient care team. In this role, your primary tasks are to calculate, prepare, and administer doses of radiation or radioactive medicines to our patients. You will also perform dynamic and static imaging procedures, all while monitoring the patient’s discomfort. Due to the nature of these medicines, you must perform regular quality control tests on nuclear medicine instrumentation and document the results. Applicants for this role must have the NMTCB (CNMT) or ARRT (N) certification.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Calculate, prepare, and administer doses of radioactive medicines
  • Perform dynamic and static nuclear imaging procedures, including radionuclide scans
  • Monitor patient discomfort during each treatment or procedure
  • Calibrate imaging equipment
  • Perform and document quality control tests according to state and federal regulations

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree from an AMA-accredited program
  • NMTCB (CNMT) or ARRT (N)
  • State licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • IV certification (preferred)
  • 1+ years of experience as a medical technologist, preferably in nuclear medicine
