Job descriptionCCS CPC RHIT CMC CCA 2+ years outpatient E / M coding experience required Neurosurgery and Neurology coding experience preferred 6 months of HCC experience preferred EPIC system experience preferred Strong communication and query skills with providers and leadership Flu Vaccine starting 10 / 01 / 2025 TB Skin test or chest x-ray (current) Transcripts of highest level of education Assign accurate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments per ICD-10-CM / CPT4 guidelines Ensure compliance with coding standards, payer rules, and ethical guidelines (AHIMA / AAPC) Extract and enter clinical data for billing and reporting purposes Collaborate with providers and staff to clarify documentation and coding questions Support continuous improvement in accuracy, productivity, and compliance Mentor less experienced coders as needed
Overview
Experienced Certified Coder - 13-Week Contract | The Woodlands, TX. Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM. Pay Rate : $32 / hr. Employer : Protouch Staffing - supporting our trusted healthcare client.
Job Summary
The Certified Coder is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and diagnostic results to extract accurate data, applying ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 codes, and modifiers for billing, reporting, research, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures coding accuracy and adherence to official guidelines while serving as a resource to providers and clinical staff.
Education
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate Degree in a medical area preferred
