The Medical Equipment Specialist performs sales and customer service at Impressions Appearance Shoppe and by telephone. This person provides assistance to customers in problem solving, demonstrating, instructing, and fitting of cancer support items and other supplies. Skills must include the ability to work with mastectomy patients by observing wounds, assessing prosthetic and other needs, communicating with the doctor, and other health care professionals while providing a supporting environment. Cleans and makes minor repairs to medical equipment as required.
Qualifications: HSD or GED required. Mastectomy certification preferred, ability to obtain within two years from date of hire required. Ability to communicate with patients, physicians and public in a courteous and professional manner required. Ability to type, general sales procedure knowledge, word processing and computer knowledge preferred. Experience in home care industry sales is desirable, including training and/or experience in fitting orthotics, medical equipment, and related items.
