Job purpose

The Automation Engineer is responsible for the reliability of plant control systems. They will support and execute automation projects focused on improving processes and equipment reliability. The Automation Engineer will also provide expertise and support to equipment subject matter experts, maintenance, and industrial controls technicians.

Responsibilities

• Develop, troubleshoot, improve, and maintain automation systems (update schematics, functional descriptions, PLC programs, SCADAs, etc.).
• Responsible for integration of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Servo Drives, and process controls.
• Responsible for the standardization of control systems and control logic designs.
• Train end users on the operations of newly installed or modified process control systems.
• Manage and execute automation improvement projects.
• Provide technical support on control system reliability issues.
• Mentor and train Industrial Control Technicians.
• Other duties / tasks may be assigned.

Reports to : Engineering and Reliability Manager, Processing

Travel requirements : 10%

Exempt / nonexempt : exempt

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.

Base pay range : $90,000 - $130,000 USD
